Hili Madrasa History:

“Jamia Islamia AziziaAnwarul Uloom” is a unique institution of scientific tradition in North Bengal. This traditional Islamic school is also known as Hili Madrasa nationwide. Dinajpur Hili Madrasa is one of the madrasas which have been contributing to the spread of Islamic ideals and religious education in the northern region, especially the Rangpur division. Located in Hakimpur police station of Dinajpur district, this institution has been serving IlmNabbir in the northern region for 63 years.

Hili Madrasa is a traditional scientific institute established in 1960. At that time Alhaj Maulana Sadek Saheb came to Dinajpur from Feni in the southern region to spread the teachings of the Quran and Hadith. After arriving here, he started the ‘Sabahi (Morning) Maktab’ to spread the light of Prophetic education among the children and teenagers along with Imamat in the mosque adjacent to the railway station.

Maulana Sadeq Saheb’s desire, the demand of the local people, and the increase in the number of scholars in the area gradually expanded the Maktab of Maulana Sadeq Saheb to Hili and surrounding rural areas. Today it has become a vast educational institution named Jamia Islamia AziziaAnwarul Uloom, which is traditional in the northern region, with the combination of one jamaat of book department, two jamaats, Darse Nezami, and modern education.

Maulana Harun Chowdhury, the founder of Atra Jamia, Maulana Sadek Saheb (R.A.) served as the manager of Fatikchari (R.A.) for 36 years from 1980 to 2017 after moving from Heli to Feni. This elderly Mukhlis is currently the Muhtamim under the roof of the madrasa. Maulana Shamshul Huda Khan is responsible for managing the madrasa as Muhtamim. About 1400 students are learning religious knowledge in the current Banglahilli Madrasah, which was started from Sabahi Maktab by Alhaj Maulana Sadek Saheb, who came to Dinajpur from the southern region to spread knowledge. The respected 44 teachers and 14 employees of the madrasa are constantly working tirelessly to make these students as worthy servants of Islam. With the unceasing efforts of the madrasa teachers and officials, the institution is developing Mukhlis scholars who are worthy successors of the revelation of knowledge in the service of the nation, the nation and the Ummah. In addition to Madrasa education program, the executives of the institution participate in helping people in various natural calamities with the motivation of people. The institution has taken a deep place in the hearts of the local people through its service activities for the sake of education and welfare for the country and the nation.
